I had a great experience with Dr. Hu. I sought out acupuncture treatment after trying to conceive for about 9 months and suffering multiple miscarriages during that time. We actually were not having difficulty conceiving, but difficulty keeping the pregnancies. So, I decided to try acupuncture and herbs to see if it would help create a better uterine environment for implantation and ultimately for maintaining a pregnancy. After just two – three months with Dr. Hu, we conceived again and I am now 35 weeks pregnant with this baby. My treatment consisted of accupuncture once or twice a week and herbal supplements everyday up until about 8 weeks into the pregnancy. After that, I continued with the acupuncture for the rest of my first trimester.
During my time with Dr. Hu, she was very attentive to my ovulation / temperature calendar that I was keeping and prescribed different herbs based on the time of my cycle. She always listened to how I was feeling and offered advice based on my chart and cycle time. Dr Hu is great! I visited her clinic the first time after we saw an infertility specialist that did not help us much with my health condition. With so many failures from attempting to get pregnant, we decided to give Chinese medicine a try as the last choice. we were skeptical at first, but within a few weeks of seeing her, I ovulated but did not get pregnant. Surprisingly, while I was in her care, my menstrual cycle was very timely which hardly happen in my life and we successfully got pregnant. My baby is a year old now and I am see Dr Hu again for my second child for a few weeks already. I am a healthy, middle-aged woman who tried tirelessly over the last decade to conceive a baby with my husband. We’d done everything! I always like to try natural remedies first, rather than drugs and surgeries. Four years ago, both my husband and I had weekly Acupuncture treatments and daily Chinese herbal remedies from a highly recommended doctor for nine months. I did not get pregnant.
After a failed artificial insemination last fall, and another in January 2008, I got very ill with a severe winter flu and head cold. Dr. Hu explained why the medicines I’d been given didn’t work, told me what medicine to try, and put me on a specialized diet of food and Chinese herbs to help my fertility. I did exactly what Dr. Hu prescribed and within one month I was pregnant with our first baby! Dr. Hu has an incredible knowledge of the human condition, is patient, kind, and an expert in the medical field. She’s the best doctor I’ve ever had. If she delivered babies, we’d have her deliver ours! I see Dr. Hu regularly and have never felt better. I’m pregnancy—A story from Dr. Hu’s patient

General Health
I first met Dr. Hu when I was going to get some surgery. She helped me prepare for the surgery with acupuncture and then after surgery. I sailed through the surgery and my recovery was fast and comfortable. She is the best. I also tend to have miserable head and chest colds and am unable to get any sleep and rest. Once I found Dr.Hu that is in the past. As soon as I get one she gives me a treatment and herbs and I am able to sleep, breathe and feel 100% better and heal very quickly. Dr Hu is wonderful. I have been to her clinic for severe neck pain, fatigue, and, most recently, allergies, all of which have been resolved quickly after a single treatment. Dr. Hu is an amazing doctor. I have been seeing her for about 10 years. She eased me through my menopause. She cured my migraines that I had since my early 20’s. Not only does Dr. Hu expertly position the acupuncture needles, she also had me try the ancient Chinese technique of cupping. Heated glass bottles are placed on your back in order to increase heat and combat blood stagnation. Sure, it sounds a bit strange, but it all seems to make sense to me since migraines are in essence a blood flow issue. Gwyneth Paltrow recently made the news when she showed up on the red carpet with her cupping bruises proudly displayed in a backless dress. Mine might not have seemed as glamorous as Paltrow’s, but hopefully we both experienced positive results. Dr. Hu also mixed up some some nasty-tasting tea for me to take home, which I am still drinking with a forced smile three times a day. And, just for good measure, she applied four tiny tacks to each ear, which I am to squeeze as pressure points throughout the week until my next visit. Well, if nothing else, it sure gives you something to talk about at the next cocktail party.

Pain- Migraines
I started seeing Doctor Hu about a year and a half ago for a nagging headache on the right side of my face. Within three weeks of seeing her it was gone!
My friend was a student at Yo San, where Dr. Hu also teaches, and he recommended her to me. I feel so lucky to have found her! Her technique and her understanding of the body in both a physical and spiritual sense is unparalleled. She is able to explain to you what could be happening on a biological level, but then knows how to treat it in a way that is integrative through acupuncture, cupping, and herbs.
I now go back once a week for routine appointments, and it is my favorite part of the week. I always feel so good about my body after leaving her office.
She has a very calming presence, and really listens.

Autoimmune- Hyperthyroidism
I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and had severe headaches, lost 20 pounds in a month and couldn’t swallow because of a nodule. The endocrinologist was not concerned and told me to return in a month (WTH!!) to begin a treatment of pharmaceutical medication to kill the thyroid and then take medication for the rest of my life to address the symptoms of hypothyroidism while never addressing the reason for the disease. I considered this nonsensical and began researching eastern healing online where I found Dr. Hu. She immediately started me on a regimen of herbs and acupuncture. Within one week the swelling went down and I was able to eat again and (darn it!!) slowly regain the weight I lost. A month later when I went for my endocrinology follow-up and begin treatment (NOT), the nodule was gone and my thyroid levels were in the low/normal range. When I told him I was seeing Dr. Hu for acupuncture and herbs targeted for thyroid health, I was told herbs and acupuncture could not heal my thyroid despite the fact that all blood tests and scanning indicated my thyroid was healing. The bottom line is Dr. Hu is dedicated, listens to you, addresses your health issues and is experienced in targeting your ailments with herbs that don’t have harmful side affects. I strongly suggest you get more than one opinion when dealing with your health and be an active participant in your health care. With Dr. Hu as your advocate in good health and healing, you can’t go wrong.

As of this time, my condition is so improved that I rarely cough, and when I do it is minimal. No mucus is apparent. Since about a month ago, I have been able to walk three miles without difficulty and have been able to walk over a mile up a very steep hill. I plan on resuming my hiking, where before this condition I was able to hike up to eight miles. I also plan on resuming skiing.
While I know that I do have asthma, the effects are so minimal now as to be barely noticeable. I have substantially reduced the meds I take, and have eliminated others. I expect to reduce and eliminate them further as time goes by.
I am extremely pleased with the treatment you have administered. After over a year and a half of suffering, I no longer suffer. I have resumed my physical activities and expect to increase them as I get back into shape.
I have recommended this treatment to others with a similar condition. I would not hesitate to recommend you to others similarly afflicted.

Endocrine Disorder- Acne
After having blemish-free skin for 24 years, I was shocked when over Christmas, my face started to break out with acne. It was extremely upsetting and no one seemed to have any kind of answer as to why this was suddenly happening to me. I went to see a few dermatologists, but no one had an answer that had anything to do with what could be going on “inside my body” not just the surface.
I got Doctor Hu’s name from a friend who has been seeing her for female hormonal issues. She had great success with acupuncture and highly recommended Doctor Hu.
When I first came, Doctor Hu described my acne as “strawberry-like”. Red, swollen, and altogether embarrassing. Within three weeks, the acne was disappearing. The treatment included acupuncture on my body and also many tiny needles that she put directly on my face, which felt so good and seemed to lift my face as well. Then she prescribed my detox herbs and herbs to balance my hormones.
She gave me a thorough list of foods that “clear heat and toxicity from the body”.
And lastly, she recommended crushing dandelion greens and making a face mask. As well as ground barely face masks and moisturizing with aloe vera.
After only two months of seeing her my face is almost entirely clear and healing with no scars of any kind.
Of course the rest of my body benefited too. I ended up losing weight, and having a general feeling of happiness about life that I had been missing for quite some time.
I really wish more people knew the power of acupuncture and healing your body from the inside out.

Dear Dr. Hu, Beginning at about 12 years of age, I had to deal with unwanted and serious weight gain along with irregular and horrible menstrual cycles. It was not until my mid 20s that a doctor finally told me why: Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome…. After about three months of seeing you, I went to see yet another doctor about my PCOS. He decided that I needed to repeat some of my tests that I did so many years before. So I had pictures of my ovaries taken again, and to my doctor’s utter disbelief and to my great joy, I had only one small cyst!….I do not know how else to say this but that you saved me.
